Help with your Xerox VersaLink printer: toner & troubleshooting questions

Which toner does my Xerox VersaLink printer use?

Select your complete VersaLink Series model from the finder or model list.
Confirm the cartridge number and colour on the product’s compatibility list. VersaLink Series printers do not all use the same toner.

Do VersaLink Series printers use ink cartridges?

Xerox VersaLink models are laser printers that use toner.
Ink cartridges are not substitutes for laser toner.

Can I use high-yield toner?

Use high-yield cartridges only when they are specified for your exact model.
Compare rated pages and price for the same cartridge colour.

Original or compatible toner: what is the difference?

Original toner is manufactured by Xerox. Compatible toner is a third-party alternative.
Check each product’s stated yield, pack contents and compatible printers.

How do I replace a toner cartridge?

Follow the instructions for your exact VersaLink model and open the designated cartridge cover.
Remove the depleted cartridge, remove all protective materials from the replacement and seat it in the correct position.
For colour models, match the cartridge to its labelled colour slot. Avoid touching the drum surface or electrical contacts.

Why are my prints faint or streaked?

Check toner levels, cartridge seating and paper settings.
Use the cleaning or adjustment procedure described in your model’s manual. Persistent marks may require inspection of the cartridge or separate drum, where fitted.

How do I handle a paper jam or ADF problem?

Follow the on-screen instructions and remove paper gently without forcing covers or rollers.
Inspect the paper path and use the model’s specified cleaning procedure. Stop if paper is trapped near a hot fuser or cannot be removed safely.

How should I compare page yields?

Rated yields are estimates; coverage, document content and settings affect actual output.
Compare the yield of each colour separately. Multipack colour yields should not be added into one combined yield.
