      Frequently asked questions

What should I know about this ink?
      • Compatible ink bottle pack for Canon printers. Includes 2 × GI-20BK Pigment Black.
Which Canon printers use this ink?
      • Use the compatible Canon printer list above to open your printer’s ink page. Match the complete model number, including any letters at the end. This product uses GI-20BK supplies; similar-looking cartridges and bottles from other families may not fit.
What is included in this pack?
      • 2 × GI-20BK Pigment Black. The product type is Compatible. Check the number of black and colour supplies included; a black twin pack or colour-only pack does not necessarily include a complete set.
Is this original Canon, remanufactured or compatible ink?
      • This listing is for compatible ink made by a third party as a replacement for the stated Canon supplies. It is not original Canon ink. Original Canon alternatives are shown separately in the comparison table.
How many pages can this ink print?
      • GI-20 Black: up to 6,000 pages per bottle. Declared yields are reference figures from standard printing tests. Text and photo coverage, print settings, cleaning and printing frequency affect actual results. Different colour yields should not be added together as a total page count.
How do I choose the right refill bottles?
      • Match the bottle family and colour to the tank and the printer’s manual. Canon MegaTank bottle families are not universally interchangeable. Refill only the matching tank and follow the printer’s filling instructions.
How do I refill my printer?
      • Follow the refill instructions for your exact printer. Open the correct tank, use the matching bottle and stop at the indicated fill level. Close the tank securely and complete any steps shown on the printer. Keep different ink colours separate.
What if the printer does not recognise the new ink?
      • Confirm the cartridge number matches the printer, check that all required protective tape or caps have been removed, and reseat the cartridge according to the manual. Read the exact error message before troubleshooting. Firmware behaviour and ink-level reporting can differ between original and third-party supplies. If the issue remains, contact us with the printer model and message.
How should I store unopened ink?
      • Keep it sealed in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and freezing temperatures. Follow the storage instructions and any date printed on the packaging. Open cartridges or bottles when you are ready to use them.
Can I buy black or colour ink separately?
      • The comparison table shows the related singles and packs available for this ink family. Some third-party options are sold only as multipacks. A tri-colour cartridge contains cyan, magenta and yellow together; printers with separate ink tanks use individual colour cartridges.
Where can I find drivers and installation instructions?
      • Open your model from the compatible printer list. Its printer page includes official Canon driver and manual links. Select the operating system and documentation for your exact model on Canon’s website.
